Hi everyone, here is the idea I worked on for a few days. I tried to mix all the elements we have to propose a quite developed concept.
A very long time ago, Humans, who have been forced to live together in the city, decided to slit up. Thus was born three districts, with nothing in commun.
TOGETHER is a GameDoc based on community initiatives in towns : social solidarity, education, handicap…
Within a fictional world, constituted of a divided city, the player will face the great challenge of gather people who didn't want to live together or share anything. Players will also discover several solidary actions which exist in the real world and how they improve the way we live together in our actual megapolis.
A very long time ago, Humans, who have been forced to live together in the city, decided to slit up. Thus was born three districts, with no more in commun.
As the main researcher of your district, you discover that a major ecological crisis occurs and that the entire city is in great danger. But the actual knowledge doesn’t permit to solve this problem.
In the first part, you’ll try to search your own district to get the key to the old archive room. This is how you discover a device, able to stop the crisis. You will have to travel in all the different districts of the city, which have been without communication for years, to retrieve all the parts of the plan necessary to build the device.
You’ll have to face the greatest challenge of you world, beyond language barrier, beyond discrimination, beyond your lack of credibility…
Once you’ve associated all the puzzle pieces, you’ll notice you cannot build the device alone. You’ll need the help of all the researchers of the other districts.
Together, you will achieve to overcome this ecological threat.
During the game, the player will have to watch documentary reports about solidary initiatives which exists in our real world.
In the first part, most of the video will highlight the problems encountered when the Live Together doesn't work efficiently.
Then, during the investigation in different districts, the player will discover initiatives, how they live, and who are the actors of these actions.
In the last part, the player will discover how solidarity can evolve by capillarity, with exchange of energy.
The player have to retrieve puzzle pieces to assemble the plan necessary to build the device. At each step, there will be a process, during which he will discover the documentary parts, and, in the same way of a point and click, he will get objects and/or competences, that will allow him to continue.
All the parts will be written thinking simultaneously at two different level : the game and the doc. Thus, to acquire a language competence, the player will have to discover an action oriented to language teaching for instance.
